Frequently asked questions

Straight answers, before you spend anything.

Twenty-two questions people ask before they call, answered the way we would answer them on the phone. If yours is not here, call or text and you will get the same honesty.

Before you start

Who builds the site?

Loomwest is two people in Gilroy. Andre Costa designs and builds every site by hand and is your main contact, from the first draft to launch and after. Karson handles sales and meets owners in person, and usually has the first conversation with you. Modern tooling keeps the build fast, which is why a five-page site takes seven days rather than three months. The design decisions are made by hand.

What is the free Report Card?

An honest five-check review of how your business shows up online: whether people can find you on Google and in AI assistants like ChatGPT (your Google listing and Maps, plus the Yelp, Bing and Apple listings AI assistants read), whether your site loads on a phone, whether a visitor can reach you within ten seconds, and what the fix would cost if something fails. A person reviews it, and it comes back within one business day, with no pitch and no mailing list. If you pass, you will hear that too. Include your website on the request form and you also get an instant first look on the page while you wait.

What if I already have a website?

The Report Card tells you honestly whether it is worth keeping. Plenty of existing sites pass, and when yours does, that is the whole answer. The most common failure is the basic load-on-a-phone test, and if yours fails it, the card names the problem and what fixing it costs, and you decide from there.

What do you need from me?

About an hour of your time in total: your services, your hours, your photos if you have them, and what sets your business apart. Everything else is handled for you, including the writing.

If you already have a website, there is one more small step. To switch your existing web address over to the new site, we need access to the account where that address is registered, such as GoDaddy or Squarespace. You add us as a delegate or user on that account, which takes a few minutes and can be removed at any time, and we never need your password. If your provider does not offer that, we make the change together on a short call. Your web address stays the same, your email keeps working as before, and visitors simply arrive at the new site.

How do I give feedback on the draft?

With a link, not a phone call. When a draft is ready you get a private preview link and a short review form built for your site: tap what works, tick what does not, add a note where a box does not say it, and hit send. It takes about five minutes on your phone and lands straight with Andre. The form and the preview are private, reachable only by someone with the link, and nothing goes live until you say so.

If I open my review page on another device, are my answers there?

Once you press send, yes: everything you sent is marked as answered on every device within the hour, and nothing has to be typed twice. Answers you have typed but not yet sent live only in the browser you typed them in, so finish and send on the same device, or send what you have and pick up the rest anywhere.

Do I need to write the words myself?

No. The writing is part of the build. You tell us about the business in that hour, we write the pages, and you read every word before it goes live. Your voice, our typing.

Can you do my logo and photos?

Yes, as separate pieces. The build itself uses the logo and photos you bring, and phone photos are fine when the light is good. If you want more than that, photo work (selecting and polishing what you have, or a basic set of shots taken at your business in the Gilroy area) and logo design are each quoted on their own, so you only pay for what you actually need.

Money and timing

What does a website cost?

A one-page site is $600, live in three days. A three-page site is $800, live in five days. A five-page site is $1,000, live in seven days. Every build includes the writing, the SEO basics and the first month of the Care plan, which is $59 a month after that and cancels anytime.

Every build is also AI-ready, at no extra charge: built so Google, Bing and AI assistants like ChatGPT can read it and cite it, with readable pages, the right settings for AI search crawlers, and your business facts written plainly.

Outgrow a smaller site later and its full price is credited toward the larger build.

How and when do I pay?

Zelle, PayPal or Venmo today, and card payments through Stripe once it is live. Half to start, which is refundable until design begins, and the rest when the site goes live. The order page shows the deposit and the dates before anything is charged, so there are no surprises.

How long does it take?

It depends on one thing: how fast we get your material. Once we have your photos, your words and your sign-off on the draft, the build takes three, five or seven days depending on size, and that part is a promise. The clock does not run while we are waiting on photos or on your review, so the fastest builds are the ones where the material arrives early.

Do you have a referral program?

Yes. When someone you refer hires Loomwest for a website build, you both get one free month of Managed Plus ($149 value) once their build is paid in full. For the new client, it comes on top of the free first month of Care that every build includes. If you are not on a monthly plan, your free month is a trial month: it ends on its own, and nothing is billed unless you choose to continue.

You can both also take a full year of Care, Managed or Managed Plus at half the yearly price, if that year starts within 60 days after your free month ends: Care $295 instead of $590, Managed $575 instead of $1,150, or Managed Plus $745 instead of $1,490, paid up front like any yearly plan.

To refer someone, tell us their name, or have them mention you when they get in touch: by phone, by email, or in the notes box on the order page.

Owning your site

Do I own the site?

Yes, once the build is paid in full, and here is what that means in practice. Your domain, which is your web address, is registered in your name with your own billing, so nobody can hold it hostage. The finished site files are yours, handed over on request, to take to any host or any other designer. Hosting on our server is included while you choose to stay with us. If you ever leave, we hand over the files and point your domain at its new home, and that is the end of it.

What happens if I stop paying for the Care plan?

Nothing dramatic. The site stays yours, and it stays online until the hosting term already paid for runs out. What stops right away is the monthly work: the hosting checks, backups, security updates, uptime monitoring and the two small changes a month. Before that hosting term ends, you either restart the plan or take the files to your own host; we hand them over and point your domain at its new home. There is no contract and no exit fee.

After launch

Can I change things after launch?

Yes. For the first thirty days after launch, small changes are free: a price, a photo, your hours, a typo. After that, the Care plan covers up to two small changes a month, and the Managed plans cover unlimited content changes (text, prices, photos, hours, menus, dates), each made within one business day. Bigger changes, a new page or a redesigned section, are quoted as a small build.

Do you need my passwords for Managed Plus?

No. You invite us as a manager on each listing instead, which takes about a minute: in Google Business Profile you add a manager, in Yelp for Business you go to Account settings, User Management, Invite a User, in Bing Places you use Manage Users, and in Apple Business Connect you go to Team, Invite Team Member. Your logins stay yours, and you can remove our access at any time.

What if my business is not on Yelp, Bing or Apple Maps yet?

We create the listing for you from the photos and details on your website, so there is nothing for you to write or upload. The platform then sends a verification code to confirm the business is yours, by text, phone call, email or postcard depending on the platform, and you pass that code along to us. That is the only step on your side.

How are changes handled on Managed Plus?

Tell us once, by text, email or phone, whether it is new hours, a price, a menu, photos or an event. We make the change on your website within one business day and update your Google, Yelp, Bing and Apple listings alongside it, so every place a customer looks says the same thing. New pages and redesigned sections are quoted separately.

Being found

Will I show up on Google?

We build for search and we set up every basic Google looks at: clean structure, every page titled and described, your hours and location in Google's own markup, a sitemap submitted, a load time under a second, and your Google Business Profile linked to the site. Then Google does the rest. Nobody can promise you a ranking, and anyone who does is selling something.

Will my site show up in ChatGPT and other AI search?

Every build is made ready for it, at no extra charge. Google, Bing and AI assistants like ChatGPT can read the site and cite it: the pages are readable, the settings for AI search crawlers are right, and your services, prices, towns, hours and contact details are written out in plain text.

For a local business, the site is only half of it. When someone asks an AI assistant to recommend a business, it builds the answer from your website and from your listings, so your Google Business Profile, your Yelp, Bing and Apple listings and your reviews matter as much as the site does.

Nobody can promise you a spot. The same question asked twice usually comes back with a different list of businesses, and OpenAI itself says placement in ChatGPT is not assured. What we can do is keep everything an AI reads about you complete and correct, and measure how often it names you. The one-time Google and AI listings tune-up, $349, checks the site, fixes and matches your Google, Yelp, Bing and Apple listings, and takes a starting measurement. Managed Plus, $149 a month, keeps those listings current and reports each month how often AI assistants name your business.

Do you work with businesses outside Gilroy?

Yes. We are based in Gilroy and work in person across Gilroy, Hollister, Morgan Hill, San Martin and San Jose, and remotely anywhere. Everything from the Report Card to launch works over the phone and email if you prefer it that way.

Why is this priced below agency rates?

No office, no account managers, no six-person meetings. Two local people with modern tools and a fixed process. The price reflects low overhead, not thin work.

Nothing matches that word. Try another, or ask us directly below.
